From the desk of the Prez,
Season greetings to all. I thought that I would like to write a small article on our most recent event that was held held last night (10/12/11)
This event was the Unbiased Christmas party that this year was held at the home of Peter and Glyn in Canterbury.
The night turned out to be a very successful one with everyone showing what great culinary skills that they
possessed, by bringing along plates of their signature dishes.
We had enough food to feed the whole street, but by the end of the night there wasn't much
left.(commiserations to the rest of the street...you missed out
As is usual at this time of the year, there are going to be a few rolly polly bowlers on the greens in the next
few weeks as all that rich, fatty, high caloried, but absolutely beautiful food and drink was consumed with
great relish.
Even though everyone was heard to complain every time a new dish was put on the table that
they..." couldn't fit another thing in ".... somehow it all disappeared. It is amazing how one can find that extra
little bit of room for things like Profiteroles (oozing with cream), Lemon Mousse cake (that didn't last long)
fruit mince pies (an old favourite), and little meringue frogs that everyone mistook for male genitalia (how
could anyone ever make that mistake I'll never know) , and bread and butter pudding with icecream (yumbo).
All this was washed down with lots of alcohol free beverages.....( yeah right ...pull the other one )
To everyone who contributed to the very successful evening with the food and by your company, I say a very
big thank you.
It is with people like yourselves that Unbiased will continue to grow and become even better known
throughout the bowling fraternity.
Last but not least I would like , on behalf of all the club members, to thank Peter and Glyn for opening up
their home to the hordes from Unbiased.
Thank you for your great hospitality and hosting,it was very much appreciated by everyone there.
Cheers from the Prez,
Ian. |
